About the blinds...
If you are looking for a something that offers privacy at night, but also lets light in during the day whilst reducing the glare, our double roller blind system is the perfect solution for rooms that are overlooked, facing the sun, or if you want the practicality of both a sheer or sunscreen fabrics, combined with a blackout fabric.
Our range of double roller blinds is offered in two different systems; Luxury or Standard. Both systems allow separate control of the two blinds, giving you complete control over the privacy and the amount of light entering a room.
Which roller system should I use?
The main differences between the systems is the appearance of the blind & the brackets used, and which type of fabric is suitable for you. Both systems do each have their own benefits...
Standard Roller System
The standard roller system combines a blackout blind at the front, with a sheer blind at the back.
The sheer fabric is similar to a voile fabric, allowing you to see through both sides of the window, whilst diffusing light in. This fabric is ideal if your room gets a lot of sun, and if privacy during the day is not a concern.
The sheer blind will be standard rolled and positioned at the bottom of the bracket, while the blackout blind will be reverse rolled and positioned at the top of the bracket.
Please see the photos below showing the brackets we use for the double roller system without the cassette:
These brackets are only suitable for top fixing, they are not suitable to be face or side fixed.
Luxury Roller System
This can be purchased separately to the blind here: https://www.orderblinds.co.uk/buy/luxury-double-roller-blind-cassette_9601.htm
Our luxury option pairs both a blackout blind and a sheer blind within a white aluminium cassette, covering the top rolls and mechanisms to offer a cleaner, higher-end finish. Please be aware that the cassette does not completely cover the roller tube and brackets, as it will only be hidden when looking at the blind face on. You will be able to see inside the cassette from looking beneath the blind.
The sheer blind will be standard rolled and positioned at the bottom of the bracket, while the blackout blind will be reverse rolled and positioned at the top of the bracket.
Please see the photos below showing the brackets we use for the double standard roller system:

Require longer length chains?
We can provide longer length chains no problem at all! In order to do so, we need to take an Installation Height from you to comply with child safety legislation.
An installation height is the height from the floor, to the very top of the window where the blind will be fitted. Once we have confirmation on this height, we can then work out the maximum chain length we can send to comply with this legislation, ensuring that the chain will reach 150cm away from the floor.
You can include this measurement in your special instructions at the checkout, alternatively, you can call us or email this information to our customer service team.
What can I customise?
If you are stuck on what to choose from our drop down menus when ordering, you can find additional information by clicking the 'Question Mark' icons next to the drop down menus. These provide photos or any additional information you may need to confirm, before placing the order. You can find them here:
The Fabric Itself!
We do have set options & pairing for our double roller blinds, but there is the option to choose a different fabric (for both blinds) from any of our single roller blind options, if you have your eye on one!
One common pairing that is possible for the luxury system, is switching the sheer fabric to sunscreen, or even blackout to daylight fabric. Even one of our patterned blinds is an option to bring style and colour into your home.
If you would like this option, please get in touch with our customer service team at info@orderblinds.co.uk, providing the order information including your sizes & which fabrics you would like, we will then get back to you with a quote.
Chain Colour
You can choose from a couple of different options: White plastic, Black plastic, or Nickel.
Bottom Finish
You can choose from a couple of different options: Plain bottom finish (complete with a bottom weight), or an exposed aluminium bottom bar in black, silver or white.
All of our roller blinds are now made with a sewn bottom finish.
Sizing Information
For our plain roller blinds, we add 40cm onto the drop, which ensures that the roller tube isn't exposed when the blind is at its fullest drop. For all printed & patterned blinds, we add 30cm onto the drop.
When fitting your blind outside the window recess, we recommend overlapping the window by at least 10cm on the width & drop. You can then specify whether you want us to use these measurements as the Blind Size or the Fabric Size. Please see our guide on how to measure for this here.
Recess Size
If you want to fit your blind within the window recess, you will need to order the blind as a 'Recess Size'. Please see our guide on how to measure for this here: Please see our guide on how to measure for this here.
Make sure you do not make any reductions from these sizes yourself, because for a recess we will take a 0.5cm reduction from the width you provide, to ensure the blind fits into the space. The fabric width will be approximately 3.5cm shorter than the bracket to bracket width.
Blind Size
If you choose Blind Size, we will use your measurements as the size of the blind including the brackets and mechanism. We will not make any reductions to this. The fabric width will be approximately 3.5cm shorter than the bracket to bracket width.
Fabric Size
If you choose Fabric Size, we will use your measurements as the size of the fabric part of the blind only. This means that the size of the brackets will be 3.5cm wider overall, in addition to the fabric size.
