The Total Blackout Blinds we offer are for the edge of recess fitting only & are only suitable if you have a square or rectangular recess with a minimum recess depth of 5cm, due to the depth of the cassette & as the blind needs to overlap at the top and sides.
We would recommend using only a steel tape measure for measuring up, as other forms of measurements can be unreliable, and for this product, the measurements do require to be as exact as possible.
Then you will need to take the following measurements:
- Width at the top, middle & bottom
- Drop at the left, middle & right
- Depth of the recess (you will need to ensure that there are no obstructions, such as handles or vents)
Please see the video and pictures below for visual assistance:
The width & drop measurements will need to be taken at the front of the recess only, as this is where the blind will be fitted. Do not measure at any other point in your recess, as it is common for recesses to vary from the front to the back.
Sizes suitable for this system are:
- Widths: 40cm – 190cm
- Drops: 30cm – 160cm
How to measure for Total Blackout Blinds XL
For a Total Blackout XL Blind, the fitting of these is different, therefore the measuring is slightly different also.
The difference between the XL and the edge of recess total blackout blinds, is that the XL blinds fit completely within the recess at any point. Therefore, you would have to take the same 7 measurements as listed above, but instead, measure the width & drop sizes in the part of the recess you would like the blind to fit.
Sizes suitable for this system are:
- Widths: 40cm – 240cm
- Drops: 30cm – 240cm
